The Pandora Effect - Hotel Exotica future crime Book2.

Detective with gun standing on a floating platform in a futuristic city next to his aircar.

The Pandora Effect

Against the backdrop of humanity's expansion to the stars, one hotel chain has brought luxury to frontier planets and dangerous exotic locations. But with all things bright, beautiful and wealthy comes the dark side of humanity in league with its equally dangerous alien trading partners.

When Private Investigator, Lucas Honey investigates a double murder at Hotel Exotica, he finds a holo-sliver that holds stolen technology capable of changing every aspect of Consortium life and worth trillions of credits. Unaware of what he has in his possession, he becomes the target of murderous dark forces that are desperate to grab the tek and exploit it before the original owners can get it back—and before it creates chaos on the Intersystem Stock Exchange. As he hunts for the criminals across multiple planets, he is sucked into a complex maze of bribery, violent threats, and multiple attacks on his life. Along the way, Lucas enlists the help of colleague, alien detective DCI Zoe Sanchez, who lobs her own personal bombshell at a critical moment of the investigation, changing his life forever—if he survives to see his future unfold.

This is the first book I have read from Steven Savanna, so I wasn't sure what to expect. There's been good buzz with him, in my reading circles, so I thought I would give "The Pandora Effect: Lucas Honey Investigates. Hotel Exotica Book 2." First I must say "this is not a kid's book" - The violence, and intense scenes, may be too much for a kid to handle. But the adventurous sci-fi twist and turns, of the protagonist Lucas, makes for a great space, adventure, crime-solving page turner. Was this Steven Savanna book perfect, "no," but if you're an adult who loves intense sci-fi action, drama, and mystery, then you're going to love this.

“The future world Steven Savanna created is brilliantly conceived, while the complex crime drama is smartly crafted. I enjoyed the characters, too, with lots of personality and humor shining through. The Pandora Effect is a monumental achievement!”
